GET CAUGHT ON FIRE

12 Sep

For this month’s Vouched Satellite post, I interviewed Riley Michael Parker, top dog of HOUSEFIRE Publishing, about their first book, Nouns Of Assemblage, their new website, and the general awesome things HF is doing. Beyond being an awesome editor and writer, his interview answers are rad. CHECK IT OUT.

And right on time, Housefire put up some new material recently, including this amazing new story by Mel Bosworth, “The Stuffed Version of Myself.”

Look over there, then look over there.

Over at Smalldoggies Magazine, I use the Vouched Satellite column to talk about a journal that’s quickly becoming one of my favorites, Sixth Finch. Read more at Smalldoggies then read Sixth Finch. Okay.

This Month Is A Summer Reading Month

9 Jun

For my monthly Vouched Satellite/Smalldoggies Magazine column this time, I asked some people for some summer reading suggestions, and here is what I came up with. YOU’VE GOT A WHOLE LOT OF READING TO DO

Smalldoggies Column

30 Apr

Hey hey. I have a new post up at The Vouched Satellite at Smalldoggies Magazine. It’s an interview with Micah Ling about Book Punch Reviews. NICE

WHERE TO READ? YOU KNOW WE GOT YOU COVERED.

15 Jan

Hey hey. My monthly column went up yesterday at Smalldoggies Magazine for the Vouched Satellite project. A bunch of cool people including the Vouched contributors, Peter Davis, Matt Bell, Ryan Ridge, and Matty Byloos contributed lists of their favorite online lit journals. Thanks to all them for helping out. Thanks to you for supporting indie lit. GET TO READIN’.

LOOK AT THAT: VOUCHED BACK ON SMALLDOGGIES

9 Dec

My second Vouched Satellite post is up at Smalldoggies. This time, Ryan Ridge and I sit down on the Internet and talk about his American Homes project, objects in indie lit, and even E.B. White. Thanks to Ryan for taking the time to help out. It was super fun. I hope it’s super fun to read.

Giant Doggies.

Holy ego boost, Batman.

Adam Robinson just posted an interview with me about Vouched over at HTMLGiant, and said some kind and incredible things in his intro. That dude has been supporting Vouched from the very beginning, and I can’t thank him enough.

Also today over at Small Doggies, I use my Satellite to discuss the future of reviewing and book reviews as the internet lets anyone talk about what they’re reading or have read.

HEY CHECK ME OUT I’M ON SMALLDOGGIES

5 Nov

As Christopher said before, we are stoked to be joining forces for a bimonthly column at Smalldoggies Magazine, getting a chance to go a little overboard on some of our favorite Vouched writers.

Yesterday, my first post went up, featuring an interview with Mike Young, author of the newly released We Are All Good If They Try Hard Enough (Publishing Genius), as well as a review and a special piece of his work.

After Vouching about Mike awhile back, it was a truly funcoolawesome thing to get to do this full length post about him. Please check it out. Please check out his writing. Please check back here.

THANKS

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

All credit to Tyler, contributor extraordinaire, who vouched Smalldoggies a few weeks ago. Tyler’s review perked the ears of editor Matty Byloos, who emailed us his gratitude for the recognition. Then again, Tyler goes all WOAH WHAT ABOUT A VOUCHED SMALLDOGGIES COLLABO! And Matty and I were like, “Yeah. What about a Vouched / Smalldoggies collabo?”

So, we got it worked out and today the first of hopefully many future articles just posted. Here’s the rub:

Tyler and I are busy people, but each of us can handle an article a month. So, every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, Vouched will be featured over at Smalldoggies for the Vouched Books Satellite (we always wanted to be astronauts): Tyler on the 1st, myself on the 3rd.

We’re not quite sure what it’s going to be yet, but in general, it’ll be panhandling and promoting small pressery–reviews, conversation, &.–just like we do here, but a bit more in depth.

We’ll post reminders here when our articles drop, but even still, you should be keeping an eye on Smalldoggies. Matty is putting together some pretty awesome stuff over there.
