Big Car’s last First Friday in Fountain Square!

2 Dec

If you have plans tonight, cancel them. You’re going to want to be in Fountain Square. If you already planned to be in Fountain Square, then good. You are where you are supposed to be.

First off, you should stop by Fletcher Place Arts & Books between 6pm-9pm to see April Schafer’s first gallery showing. Over the past few months, she’s become perhaps one of my favorite painters/artists in Indianapolis, and I’m so excited to see that she’s gotten her own show. Her show, called “Shipwrecked,” features a series of paintings with ships, like the painting featured above.

Then, saunter on a little farther into the heart of Fountain Square and hit up the Murphy Building, where as the title of this post suggests, it is the last First Friday for Big Car Gallery. There are going to be bands (I’m actually reading some poetry between sets, as well!), John Waters inspired art is still hanging in the gallery, and of course, Tyler and I will be there with the Vouched Books table.

Tonight’s deal is $1 a book if you can beat me in arm wrestling! And, I’m excited to debut Michael Kimball’s novel, Us, on tonight’s table!

Hope to see you there!
