The Art of Negation

There’s been a lot of chatter lately about new works created by the simple act of cutting, blacking out words and lines, &c.–Austin Kleon’s Newspaper Blackout, Jonathon Safran Foer’s new book, and GodLovesPoetry.com, where people make poetry by blacking out press releases from the Westboro Baptist Church (aka GotHatesFags.com).

Well, here’s another beauty by Matthew Burnside over at PANK:

The last lines of this poem are incredible, so go read it, or I will black out your face.
