A Vouchable Weekend

2 Aug

You should probably spend you your time doing any of these activities:

1) Climbing stuff

This is at Climb Time Towers here in Indy. But, you don’t need a climbing gym. Trees are fun, too. Buildings. Walls. Fences.

2a) Artois the Goat

I respect any movie that can take an absurd plot and characters, make me cry a bit for them, make me pee a little with laughter, and make me want to go home and pick up a new hobby, which leads me to…

2b) Cheese Makery

After watching Artois the Goat with pals, I immediately went home to Google how to make cheese. This is a really basic strained-yogurt cheese called labneh. It’s a good cheese to start out with because you learn some basics of handling milk and aseptic practices.

I’m going home to a freshly- made batch of it after work today, and I’m going to put it in my belly.

3) Chopping firewood.

My dad taught me how to chop firewood as a kid and to this day, I’ve not found a single activity that’s a better release of I-hate-the-world.

But, it’s not all grab an axe and whack, chop, splinter. You must read the wood, find your rhythm, your accuracy. There’s a science to the split as well as the stack. Chopping firewood reminds you of why you own your arms.

4) Waking up from a nap on your living room floor to a delicious meal made by your hot wife.

I suppose that about sums it up.

5) Reading this book.

More about this later, but for right now, and I can just tell you that awhile ago, another writer friend of mine told me that when you’re writing your verbs should piss off your nouns. Jamie does just this and more. This book reads like a rattlesnake bite.

Oh man, Climb Time! My little brothers go there all the time. It is making them lean and powerful. I went last time I visited home and mostly felt like a big lump of that cheese.

Yeah, man. I love Climb Time. I’m getting my old job back there to make some extra cash and pay off our new roof.

Do they go to Climb Time Indy or Climb Time Towers? If they go to Towers, I bet I know them.

Judging from brief Internet researches, it seems they go to Indy. I hadn’t realized there were two locations.
